 LiDAR BUOY - AQUA STRIDER

AQUA STRIDER is designed for ocean monitoring and Wind Lidar Observation based on our experience of meteorological and oceanographic monitoring buoy projects. Aqua strider, just like the name, it has stable movement of pitch and roll comparing to NOAA standard buoys.

In addition, we use ZX300M from ZX lidars. It is as known as leader of the world’s wind lidar market and the most efficient measurement of wind on floating platforms. All related systems are manufactured domestically(Korea) in accordance with OWA’s recommendation.

OWA(Offshore Wind Accelerator) under Carbon Trust published a roadmap for the use of a Floating Lidar System(FLS) in November 2013 (amended in October 2018) for the rapid development of wind farm business. And we have prepared the basis for the development of wind farms through the wind condition data of the FLS. Accordingly, a guide for construction and operation of the FLS(floating Lidar Systme) has been prepared based on IEC so that wind farm investors and developers and carry out projects rapidly.


Aqua Strider includes underwater senser canister and holes for underwater monitoring sensors such as CTD and ADCP. Also buoy mast and structures in air is made of stainless 304 and 316 so that the magnetic field can not affect to compass of wind or wave.

Unique Buoy Structure

The lidar is installed in the center of buoy mast for stable observation. Also buoy mast can protect the Lidar from strong wind and wave water confliction

    Proven ZX 300M Adoption

    The ZX 300M is highly resilient to the motion of different buoy types without experienced on different buoy platforms, even without calibration of buoy motion.

      Stable Power System

      The AQUA STRIDER power supply uses a solar panels as the main charging power and a fuel cell generator as a backup power. It is designed to operate on its own main power system 365 days a year. Also we can monitor remotely the charge/discharge status and power status of FLS.
