10m Discuss Buoy

10m Discuss buoy was developed to measure meteorological and oceanographic elements measurement in extreme environment. 10m buoys were usually moored on outsea. Satellite communication is default telemetry.

LiDAR BUOY – AQUA STRIDER

AQUA STRIDER is designed for ocean monitoring and Wind Lidar Observation based on our experience of meteorological and oceanographic monitoring buoy projects. Aqua strider, just like the name, it has stable movement of pitch and roll comparing to NOAA standard buoys.

In addition, we use ZX300M from ZX lidars. It is as known as leader of the world’s wind lidar market and the most efficient measurement of wind on floating platforms. All related systems are manufactured domestically(Korea) in accordance with OWA’s recommendation.

OWA(Offshore Wind Accelerator) under Carbon Trust published a roadmap for the use of a Floating Lidar System(FLS) in November 2013 (amended in October 2018) for the rapid development of wind farm business. And we have prepared the basis for the development of wind farms through the wind condition data of the FLS. Accordingly, a guide for construction and operation of the FLS(floating Lidar Systme) has been prepared based on IEC so that wind farm investors and developers and carry out projects rapidly.

Aqua Strider includes underwater senser canister and holes for underwater monitoring sensors such as CTD and ADCP. Also buoy mast and structures in air is made of stainless 304 and 316 so that the magnetic field can not affect to compass of wind or wave.

The lidar is installed in the center of buoy mast for stable observation. Also buoy mast can protect the Lidar from strong wind and wave water confliction

Stable Power System

The AQUA STRIDER power supply uses a solar panels as the main charging power and a fuel cell generator as a backup power. It is designed to operate on its own main power system 365 days a year. Also we can monitor remotely the charge/discharge status and power status of FLS.

2.4m Discuss buoy was developed to measure meteorological and oceanographic elements measurement in extreme environment. 2.4 buoys were usually moored offshore. LTE and Iridium Satellite communication is default telemetry. 2.4m buoy can be easily customized for  various purpose.

0.9m buoy

0.9m buoy has 0.9m diameter, 70kg weight including battery so that it can be moored by small ship and minimum man power. It can load Teletyne RDI ADCP and SBE CTDs.

Wirewalker™ system (Wave powered automatic profiler)
Wirewalder moves through wire by wave vertical energy. Sensors can be mounted on the Wirewaker with self-contained battery. Otronix data logger can be used as a power supply, data logging, time synchronizer and depth sensor.

Seabed earthquake monitoring buoy
To measure earthquake on seabed, sensor should be located on seabed and cable should go up to surface. Therefore buoy must keep it’s own position, so tall and thin spar buoy can be used.

Super Station Buoy Vertical profiling system is using buoyancy controller of Teledyne WebResearch APEX. OTRONIX has combined APEX and SBE Inductive modem to enable realtime communication between buoy and APEX profiler.

GOCI calibration optic sensor buoy
Korean 1st gen multi-purpose satellite, COMS has geostationary satellite which has ocean color sensor, GOCI. (Geostationary Ocean Color Imager) GOCI buoy has 5 optical spectrum sensors in the air and under water. .
